Summer in South Africa has brought forth bright and splendid colours. One of my favourite trees are the Jacarandas! I eagerly await every summer for them to bloom their purple blossoms, that also leave a lilac blanket on the floor.
I work on the top floor of my department and the view from my window is pretty cool, especially in summer, when the green ground meets with blue sky. The colours are awesome together!
This is the building opposite mine, that I never fail to stare at when I walk past. I have never been much of a fan of ivy on buildings. There was this one particular house when I was little that was completely covered in ivy and my mom used to tell us that a witch lived there. So it put me off, understandably so. 😀 But I think the ivy lining these windows is so pretty. No witches here! (Okay, maybe some staff members definitely qualify)
I came across Dawn’s Lingering Look at Windows and decided to participate because 1. who doesn’t like a fun challenge? and 2. one of my favourite windows resides right in Kalk Bay, Cape Town. It comfortably sits in a restaurant called The Brass Bell, which is literally in the sea. Once during a super bad thunderstorm, eels landed up in the restaurant that they had to fish out! 😀
The restaurant has been operating for 60 years and is one of South Africa’s favourite places to eat. Understandably so- these windows get to enjoy breathtaking and panoramic views of the ocean all day! Definitely one of my favourite places to enjoy seafood!
I decided to participate in Cee’s fun Share your World series. So here goes!
If you could live in any OTHER time, when would it be and why?
Back in the garden of Eden, before the stupid apple was eaten. There I could live my life the way it was supposed to be – among animals, in perfect bliss where no children or animals are abused like they are today
If you were given a yacht today, what would you name it?
Tell how you are feeling today in the form of a weather report. (For example, partly cloudy, sunny with a chance for showers, etc.)
Cloudy with a chance of a Johannesburg thunderstorm! This is my first day back at work after an awesome week’s break at the sea! Boring! This is what I left behind, do you blame me?
List at least two things in nature do you find most beautiful?
Easy – animals and the ocean! I’m at the most peace and joy when I’m around either of the two, and you can never catch me in a foul mood then!
I’m thankful for living a life that is surrounded by breathtaking views
